Back Sampling.” A Dynamic Pad Bank makes it easy to arrange and trigger audio, while all-new factory sounds, an onboard mastering processor

Dynamic Pad Bank: To make triggering samples easier, Roland added a Dynamic Pad Bank. Samples can be easily mapped to the touch-sensitive

pads; the pads can even be used to play ROM sounds or RPS patterns.

USB Onboard: With onboard USB, importing samples from a PC or Mac is easier than ever. When the

Fantom S is connected to your

computer, it shows up as a hard

drive. You can drag  les from your

computer into the Fantom S and

visa versa.

The  rst forward-looking synthesizer

Rather than emulating sounds of the past, like pianos , strings, etc, the V-Synth gives you the power to easily create all new sounds no one has ever

experienced before. The V-Synth is the  rst synth to offer multiple oscillator technologies with real-time control over a waveform’s pitch, time and

formant via Roland’s VariPhrase technology. Sounds can then be processed through new COSM

 lters, a killer arpeggiator, and powerful real-time

controllers, including the TimeTrip Pad, which lets you rub your  nger along the pad in a clockwise or counter-clockwise motion to scrub a waveform

forwards or backwards in time—without changing pitch or formant. The V-Synth is not only a powerful sound sculpting tool, but also a killer

performance synth. The programmable arpeggiator can instantly create backing chords or turn a few notes into a blazing techno sequence, and also

control synthesis parameters like  lter cutoff or envelope decay, just like a vintage step sequencer. Slow a waveform down to uncover rich harmonic

content, speed it up, or freeze it at any position—all with the touch of your  nger. Using two infrared light beams, you can control a variety of

preset controller functions—or even

play melodies—by moving your

hand vertically and horizontally

in the air.
