The VariOS Open System module

has three separate applications

(V-Producer, VariOS-8, and

VariOS-303). The V-Producer

lets you build audio productions

in real-time without draining

your computer’s CPU! The VariOS module handles the

processing, while the included V-Producer software lets you manipulate a sample’s pitch, time and formant (via award-winning VariPhrase technology), add effects and

even build complete arrangements while keeping the music  owing. While VariOS gives you the power to produce audio without any additional hardware or software, V-

Producer can sync to MIDI clock and MTC, enabling it to run smoothly alongside other sequencing programs like Logic, Performer

and Cubase. Arrangements can also be exported as Standard MIDI Files, and encoded audio  les—or

an entire arrangement—can be saved as stereo .WAV/AIFF  les for further manipulation in other DAW

programs. The open-ended architecture means that effects, processing and instruments will continue to be

developed; making your VariOS a smart investment also! VariOS uses a USB connection .

Roland’s most powerful sound module!

The  agship module of Roland’s XV Series, the XV-5080 combines a high-performance synthesizer

and monstrous sample playback with some of the  nest quality effects ever. It boasts 128-voice

polyphony and is 32 part multi-timbral. Out of the box the XV-5080 has 1024 patches and 64

MB of ROM sound data, including all the sounds from the acclaimed JV-2080 module and the

JD-990. It has eight expansion slots so you can add up to four SRX Series (pg. 217) and four

SR-JV80 Series boards. Fully expanded, the XV-5080 has an astounding 512MB of sounds on

board! The XV-5080 categorizes the sounds by categories, like guitars, strings, etc. so  nding

what you’re looking for is a snap. With optional SIMM memory, the XV-5080 also acts as

sample-player, with the ability to read Roland, Akai, Wav and AIFF format samples.

Other features include Matrix Control Modulation, beat-loop sync, LFO Sync, and

great effects. BOTTOM LINE: Tons of sounds, great sample playback, high-quality

effects in one phenomenal module!

the XV-2020 is expandable with up to two SRX-Series Wave Expansion Boards

(pg. 217). The XV-2020 includes a powerful editing program for Mac or PC.

Just install the software from the included CD-ROM, make sure the USB cable is

connected, and you can tweak everything from multimode  lters to envelopes

and effects using a sleek graphic interface. This feature also makes the compact

XV-2020 the perfect companion to laptop-based systems, since no external MIDI

interface is required. 16-part multitimbral synth capable of producing virtually

any sound imaginable!

the bank. The XV-5050 delivers the sounds and performance of the

acclaimed XV-5080 (minus the sample playback capabilities) at a great

low price. This powerful 64-voice synthesizer module cuts no corners when

it comes to features, offering four stereo Tones per patch, expressive Matrix

Control and over a thousand presets — all the presets from XV-5080, plus

a selection of Fantom patches and many all new sounds. Expandable via

two SRX wave expansion slots, the XV-5050 includes three effects processors

with everything from 24-bit reverb to chorus, and 90 multi-effects including

COSM

Guitar Amp Modeling. With 24-bit converters and digital outputs

in S/PDIF and optical formats, your music will be reproduced with the utmost

clarity. A front-panel USB port offers easy connection to your computer.
